Nifty closes below 8950, Sensex down nearly 50 points, Inox Leisure rallies 14%


Nifty closed at 8946 levels, down by 17 points or 0.2%. Sensex closed at 28986 levels, down  by 61 points or 0.1%.
 
There were 667 advances, 959 declines and 297 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bearish undertone floating in the market.
 
Adani Ports was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Hindalco was the top Nifty loser in Friday’s trading session.
 
The BSE Mid-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 13,503 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.03% at 13,675.

Inox Leisure surged over 14% in closing sessions of Monday’s trade. The stock closed at Rs 266 up by Rs 30 per share or 12%.
 
Eros International soared over 6% on intraday basis and closed at Rs 227 up by Rs 13 per share or 6%.

Live Stock Market Updates - Nifty down almost 60 points, TTML tumbles over 3%


Telecom stocks on Monday’s trade are losing ground and major stocks in the BSE Telecom index are trading in red dragging the index to its lows.
 
Heavyweight stocks, TTML is down by 3.7%, GTL Infra is down by 3.3%, RCom is down by 3.3%, MTNL is down by 1.7% and Bharti Airtel is down by 1.2%.
 

Meanwhile some stocks in the sectoral index are trading in green. HFCL is up by 3.5%, Vindhyatel is up by 1.6%, Stretch is up by 1.2% and Infratel is up by 0.6%.
 
Bharti Airtel is the major contributor to the sectoral index and pulling the index down.
 
At 12 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28990 down 57 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8939 down 24 points. A total of 31 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

 
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.1% at 13502, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.01% at 13669.
 
Some buying activity is seen in Utilities, Capital Goods and Oil & Gas indices while, FMCG, IT, Auto and Metal indices are showing weakness on BSE.
 
The INDIA VIX is up 2.5% at 13.

Opening Bell – Markets open in green with slight positive bias; Bosch top Nifty gainer


At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 44 points at 29092, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 14 points at 8977 mark.
 

Bosch is the Nifty top gainer and Lupin is the Nifty top loser in the morning hours on Tuesday. Bosch is trading at Rs 21480 per share higher by 0.54% whereas Lupin is trading at Rs 1470 per share lower by 0.49%.
 
There are 897 advances, 761 declines and 71 unchanged stocks on NSE in the morning hours reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.
 
The rupee opened at 66.77 per dollar higher by 4 paise.
 
Nifty50 has major resistance around the 9000 level, while on the downside, support is seen at the 8,925 level and the next support is placed at level of 8,860.
 
The SGX Nifty, which is trading at 8,971, down by 6 points or 0.07%.
 
The US stocks retreated on Monday with the Dow closing below 21,000 marks as market participants are refraining from taking big positions ahead of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy meeting next week amid mounting expectation for interest rate hike.
 
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 20,956 with loss of 49 points, while S&P 500 fell 7 points to close at 2,375. The Nasdaq Composite slid 21 points to finish at 5,849.  
 
Asian stocks markets are trading mixed on Tuesday, tracking weak overnight cues from Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 24 points, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 92 points. The Shanghai Composite lost 4 points.
