Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the US health regulator USFDA for triamcinolone acetonide ointment, used in treatment of various skin conditions.

But if India has to grow faster, we will have to dial our wellness (OTC) portfolio," Zubair Ahmed, head of GSK Consumer Healthcare for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. 

Cipla has set its sights on building a pipeline of speciality drugs in the United States. The company, India's third-largest drugmaker, plans to deploy more funds for research and development in respiratory, dermatology, neurology and oncology segments and hopes for the first commercial launch in the US around 2020.

Rosneft has signed a series of documents on selling stakes in Russian oil fields to Indian firms. Under the agreements, ONGC will increase its stake in Rosneft's Vankor project to 26% while Oil India, Indian Oil and Bharat Petroresources will buy up to 23.9% between them in the same field, if the deals are finalized.

Tata Motors will supply 25 hybrid electric busses to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. The contract to supply Tata Starbus Diesel Series Hybrid Electric Bus with full low floor configuration is the single largest order awarded for hybrid electric vehicle technology.

Cipla has made an additional investment of $3 million in US-based Chase Pharmaceuticals engaged in developing novel approaches to improve treatments for Alzheimer's disease. In May 2014, Cipla had invested $1.5 million to acquire 14.6% stake in Chase Pharmaceuticals.

TVS Motors has entered a pact with online marketplace Snapdeal to retail its products. Nine two-wheeler products from TVS Motor Company will be available on snapdeal.com.

US FDA issued negative observations regarding Lupin’s Goa facility. Management later confirmed that in the inspection which took place last week, the US FDA had cited nine observations all relating to inadequacy and adherence to standard operating procedures.

The Income Tax Department has slapped on UK's Cairn Energy Plc, a tax demand notice of over Rs290bn, including Rs188bn in back dated interest. Cairn allegedly made capital gains in a 2006 reorganization of its India business.

Persistent Systems acquired Australia-based PRM Cloud Solutions, a certified Salesforce consulting partner. The company did not disclose the valuation of the deal. PRM is among Australia's leading Salesforce partners and cloud application development firms, focused on building digital experiences on Salesforce1 cloud platform.

Aurobindo Pharma has received final approval from USFDA to manufacture and market Ibandronate Sodium Tablets, 150 mg. This product is expected to be launched in the 1QFY17. Ibandronate Sodium tablets are used in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Larsen & Toubro said its construction arm has bagged orders worth Rs 16.7bn across various business verticals, including residential construction and power and distribution.

Delhi High Court granted Pfizer an interim injunction on a ban on its popular cough syrup Corex, days after the government ordered it to be prohibited. It also granted interim injunction to Abbott's India unit, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Macleods Pharmaceuticals.

Procter and Gamble has discontinued manufacture and sale of its popular brand ‘Vicks Action 500 Extra’ with immediate effect after the government banned fixed dose combination drugs.
