Nifty closes above 9120, Sensex down 130 points, Infosys slips over 2%


   NSE Nifty closed at 9126 levels, down by 33 points or 0.3%. BSE Sensex closed at 29,518 levels, down by 130 points or 0.4%.
 
There were 802 advances, 842 declines and 291 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bearish undertone floating in the market.
 
Aurobindo Pharma was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Idea was the top Nifty loser in Monday’s trading session.
 
The BSE Mid-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 13916 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.3% at 14054.

BSE IT index was the top losing index on Monday’s trading session, Infosys and TCS  contributed majorly to the index downfall.
 
Infosys closed at Rs 1017 per share down by Rs 23 per share or 2.2%.
 
TCS closed at Rs 2478 per share down by Rs 48 per share or 1.9%.
 

Live Stock Market Updates – Markets under pressure, Poly Medicure up 6%


      Healthcare stocks such as Poly Medicure is up by 5.7%, Gufi Bio Sciences is up by 4.2%, Granules is up by 3.6%, Kopran is up by 3%, Ajanta Pharma is up by 2.5%, Divis Lab is up by 2.2% and Neuland Labs is up by 2.2%.
 
Meanwhile some stocks in the BSE Healthcare index are trading in red. Novartis India is down by 1.8%, Nectar Life Sciences is down by 1.6%, Claris is down by 0.9%, Ipca Labs is down by 0.7% and Torrent Pharma is down by 0.5%.
 
At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29498 down 150 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9121 down 38 points. A total of 54 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 23 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
 

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.1% at 13914, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.2% at 14052.
 
Some buying activity is seen in Telecom, Auto Oil & Gas and Realty indices while, FMCG, Utilities, Capital Goods and Metal indices are showing weakness on BSE.
 
Grasim, Tata Power, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Aurobindo Pharma, Infratel and NTPC are among the gainers, whereas Idea, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and TCS are losing on the NSE.
 
The INDIA VIX is up 1% at 12.

Opening Bell - Markets open flat with slightly positive bias; Idea up by 4.7%


At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 5 points at 29653, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 7 points at the 9166 mark.
 
Idea is the top Nifty gainer and Infosys is the top Nifty loser. Idea is trading at Rs 113.25 per share up by 4.7%. Infosys is trading at Rs 1020 per share down by 1.9%.
 
There are 904 advances, 515 declines and 460 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.
 
Immediate support for Nifty50 is likely to be expected around the level of 9,120, and if this level is breached, the next support is likely to be around the levels of 9,065-9,070. On the upside, the level of 9,220 is likely to act as a resistance level, but if the index manages to sustain above the level of 9,220, it is likely to scale up to the level of 9,300.
 
The rupee opened at 65.40 per dollar higher by 6 paise.
 

The US stocks ended with modest losses on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 20 points to close at 20,915, while the S&P 500 index shed 3 points to finish at 2,378. The Nasdaq Composite index closed almost unchanged.
 
Asian stocks are trading mixed on Monday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has shed 69 points, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading with gains of 42 points and the Shanghai Composite is trading just above neutral line.
