Opening Bell - Markets open flat with slightly positive bias; Idea up by 4.7%


At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 5 points at 29653, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 7 points at the 9166 mark.
 
Idea is the top Nifty gainer and Infosys is the top Nifty loser. Idea is trading at Rs 113.25 per share up by 4.7%. Infosys is trading at Rs 1020 per share down by 1.9%.
 
There are 904 advances, 515 declines and 460 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.
 
Immediate support for Nifty50 is likely to be expected around the level of 9,120, and if this level is breached, the next support is likely to be around the levels of 9,065-9,070. On the upside, the level of 9,220 is likely to act as a resistance level, but if the index manages to sustain above the level of 9,220, it is likely to scale up to the level of 9,300.
 
The rupee opened at 65.40 per dollar higher by 6 paise.
 

The US stocks ended with modest losses on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 20 points to close at 20,915, while the S&P 500 index shed 3 points to finish at 2,378. The Nasdaq Composite index closed almost unchanged.
 
Asian stocks are trading mixed on Monday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has shed 69 points, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading with gains of 42 points and the Shanghai Composite is trading just above neutral line.
