Nifty closes above 9120, Sensex tumbles over 30 points, Divi’s Lab tanks 19%


  NSE Nifty closed at 9121 levels, down by 5 points or 0.06%. BSE Sensex closed at 29485 levels, down by 33 points or 0.1%.
 
There were 594 advances, 1037 declines and 287 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bearish undertone floating in the market.
 
Grasim was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Idea was the top Nifty loser in Tuesday’s trading session.
 
The BSE Mid-cap Index closed down 0.4% at 13853 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 14027.

BSE Healthcare was the top losing index on Tuesday’s trade, Divi’s Lab was dragging the index to its lows. 
 
Divi’s Lab closed at Rs 640 per share down by Rs 150 or 19%.
 
BSE Realty index wast the top gaining index on Tuesday, with Prestige and HDIL lifting the index to its highs.
 
HDIL closed at Rs 78.40 per share up by Rs 2 or 2.9%.

Live Stock Market Updates: Nifty trades at day's low; Union Bank down by 3.1%

Nifty PSU Bank stocks are extending their losses in the afternoon hours on Tuesday. Union Bank is the top lower in the Nifty PSU Bank index. The stock is trading lower by 3.1% at Rs 152.9 per share.
 

Only Orient Bank stock is trading in positive territory higher by 0.6% at Rs 134.7 per share.
 
There are 587 advances, 953 declines and 374 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some negative undertone floating in the market.
 
At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29445 down 73 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9106 down 20 points. A total of 58 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
 
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.8% at 13796, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.5% at 13981.
 
Some buying activity is seen in Information Technology and FMCG while Capital Goods, Healthcare, Telecom and Auto are showing weakness on BSE.
 
Grasim, LT, ITC Limited, Bharti Infratel and Bosch Limited are among the gainers, whereas Idea, Dr Reddy’s, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma are losing sheen on NSE.
 

The INDIA VIX is down 0.9% at 11.9.

Opening Bell - Markets open flat with slightly negative bias; ITC top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 7 points at 29525, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 7 points at 9133 mark.
 

ITC is the top Nifty gainer and Idea is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. ITC is trading at Rs 284 per share up by 0.7% whereas Idea is trading at Rs 97.2 per share, down by 0.5%.
 
There are 787 advances, 860 declines and 96 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some negative bias floating in the market.
 
The range between 9,060-9,100 levels is likely to act as a support level. On the upside, 9,200-9,220 is likely to act as a resistance level.
 
The rupee opened at 65.39 per dollar lower by 3 paise.
 
All eyes are on the D-Mart IPO listing. The board of HCL Technologies finally approved share buyback at Rs 1000 per share. The stock is trading at Rs 869.1 per share, up by 0.5%.
 
The main US stock indices closed marginally lower on Monday for the third straight day of losses, as market participants were reluctant to make big bets in the absence of any positive trigger. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended lower by 9 points at 20,906, the S&P 500 index closed 5 points lower at 2,374, while the Nasdaq Composite Index finished unchanged.
 
Most of the Asian stocks are trading in the green on Tuesday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading with gains of 82 points and the Shanghai Composite gained 7 points, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 bucking the positive trend slid 66 points after the yen rose for the sixth day against the dollar.
