Opening Bell - Markets open flat with slightly negative bias; ITC top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 7 points at 29525, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 7 points at 9133 mark.
 

ITC is the top Nifty gainer and Idea is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. ITC is trading at Rs 284 per share up by 0.7% whereas Idea is trading at Rs 97.2 per share, down by 0.5%.
 
There are 787 advances, 860 declines and 96 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some negative bias floating in the market.
 
The range between 9,060-9,100 levels is likely to act as a support level. On the upside, 9,200-9,220 is likely to act as a resistance level.
 
The rupee opened at 65.39 per dollar lower by 3 paise.
 
All eyes are on the D-Mart IPO listing. The board of HCL Technologies finally approved share buyback at Rs 1000 per share. The stock is trading at Rs 869.1 per share, up by 0.5%.
 
The main US stock indices closed marginally lower on Monday for the third straight day of losses, as market participants were reluctant to make big bets in the absence of any positive trigger. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended lower by 9 points at 20,906, the S&P 500 index closed 5 points lower at 2,374, while the Nasdaq Composite Index finished unchanged.
 
Most of the Asian stocks are trading in the green on Tuesday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading with gains of 82 points and the Shanghai Composite gained 7 points, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 bucking the positive trend slid 66 points after the yen rose for the sixth day against the dollar.
