BHEL bags WIPO award for Innovative Enterprises

Among a host of public as well as private sector companies, Maharatna Company Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has won the 'World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Award for Innovative Enterprises' for its strong involvement in the use of the Patent system and its achievements in Research & Development (R&D). The award was received by Sh. B. Prasada Rao, CMD, BHEL from Amitabh Kant, Secretary, DIPP, Government of India (GoI). BHEL has been committed to the nation's power development programme and has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Power Sector by equipping itself by way of contemporary technology, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and skilled technical manpower. Responding to the growth in the nation's demand for power equipment, BHEL has enhanced its manufacturing capacity to 20,000 MW per annum.
