UltraTech Cement gains 1%; acquires cement units of JP Associates

The company will acquire Jaiprakash Associates' cement factories in six states for an enterprise value of Rs. 16,500 crore; this is among the biggest distress sales of assets as India's banks are becoming increasingly proactive on bad loans.

UltraTech Cement gained 1% to Rs. 2,795 on BSE. The company will acquire Jaiprakash Associates' cement factories in six states for an enterprise value of Rs. 16,500 crore; this is among the biggest distress sales of assets as India's banks get increasingly proactive on bad loans.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2806 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2840.95 and Rs. 2789 respectively. So far 78819(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 76165.82 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3399 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2530.8 on 07-May-2015. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2941.15 and Rs. 2754 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 62.77 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.05 % and 11.19 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading below its 200 DMA.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 7.2, up by Rs. 0.47 or 6.98% from its previous closing of Rs. 6.73 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 7 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 7.25 and Rs. 6.88 respectively. So far 17545142(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1637.04 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 29.4 on 05-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 6.45 on 12-Feb-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 7.12 and Rs. 6.54 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 39.38 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.82 % and 28.8 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading above its 200 DMA.
