Opening Bell – Nifty firmly opens above 8900 level; Bharti Airtel top Nifty gainer


At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 27 points at 28859, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 18 points at 8915 mark.
 
Bharti Airtel is the top Nifty gainer and TCS is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours on Monday. Bharti Airtel is trading at Rs 361.5 per share, up by 1.5% whereas TCS is trading at Rs 2468 per share, down by 1.02%.
 

There are 930 advances, 432 declines and 449 unchanged stocks on NSE in the morning hours on Monday reflecting strong positive bias floating in the market.
 
Coal India is trading at Rs 326 per share, up by 1.39%; Cipla is trading at Rs 593 per share, up by 0.75%.
 
Nifty50 has immediate resistance placed at the level of 8,925 and if it sustains above 8,925 it is likely to move towards the levels of 8980-9000, while on the downside, support is seen at the 8,860 level and the next support is placed at level of 8,820.
 

Rupee opened at 66.77 per dollar higher by 4 paise.
 
FTSE 100 closed lower by 8 points; CAC 40 of France closed higher by 31 points; German DAX closed lower by 32 points.
 
The US stocks ended marginally higher for the Friday session as Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen indicated a likely rate hike in March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 3 points to finish at 21,006. The Nasdaq Composite gained 10 points at 5,871 and the S&P 500 Index closed at 2,383.
 

Asian stocks markets are trading mixed on Monday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 shed 100 points, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 35 points and Shanghai Composite gained 4 points.
