Live Stock Market Updates – Markets slip from record high, IT stocks soar

The Nifty IT Index is gaining ground during the opening sessions and is up by over 1.5%. Tata Elxsi is up by 4%, TCS is up by 3%, HCL Tech is up by 2%, Infosys is up by 1.5% and KPIT is up by 1%.
 
At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31264 down 44 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9661 down 13 points. A total of 47 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 24 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
 
There are 585 advances, 898 declines and 456 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a positive bias floating in the market.
 
The BSE Mid Cap Index is trading down 0.3% at 14766, while BSE Small Cap Index is trading down 0.2% at 15373.
 
Some buying activity is seen in Information Technology and Bankex, Auto, Oil & Gas, Metal, Healthcare are showing weakness on BSE.
 
TCS, HCL Tech, Infosys, SBI and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas ITC, Cipla, ONGC, Indiabulls housing Finance and Asian Paints are losing on the NSE.
