Nifty above 7,850 level

Some buying activity is seen in consumer durable, capital goods, FMCG, teck, metal and oil & gas and metal sectors, while pharma sector is showing weakness on BSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 10,947, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.44% at 11,508.

At 9:27 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,847 up 65 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,853 up 21 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 10,947, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.44% at 11,508.

Sun Pharma, Bajaj- Auto, Tata Motors, Infosys, HUL, ICICI Bank, Wipro, ONGC and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas Dr. Reddy's, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank and GAIL  are losing sheen on BSE.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 4 paise at 66.37/$ in early trade on Thursday. The US dollar rose to fresh eight month high against a basket of currencies on Wednesday, ahead of a string of data due later in the day. Index was trading higher by 0.30 percent against a basket of six currencies in late evening yesterday.
