M&M reverses 5.2%; SC set to ban cars with 2000cc+ diesel engines in Delhi

SC indicated that it will ban the sale of passenger vehicles (including MUVs and SUVs) with diesel engine capacity of over 2000 cc in the national capital for 3-4 months to contain pollution.


M&M slumped 5.2% to Rs.1,222 on BSE. The Supreme Court on Tuesday indicated that it will ban the sale of passenger vehicles (including MUVs and SUVs) with diesel engine capacity of over 2000 cc in the national capital for 3-4 months to contain pollution.

The SC will pass its final order today.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1259 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1265 and Rs. 1210.8 respectively. So far 756,706 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 80061.91 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1441.45 on 07-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1095 on 07-Sep-2015. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1328 and Rs. 1229 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.56 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 54.91 % and 13.77 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading above its 50 DMA.
