Opening Bell - Markets open flat; Idea top Nifty gainer,HDFC Bank top Nifty loser

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 13.16 points at 28481.91, while the Nifty50 opened lower by 3.15 points at the 8818.55 mark.
 
There are 815 advances, 530 declines and 441 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting positive sentiments floating in the market.
 

Idea is the top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 110.25 per share, up by 4.11% whereas HDFC Bank is the top Nifty loser trading at Rs 1363.05 per share, down by 1.02% in Monday’s trading session.
 

The level of 8700 for Nifty is a crucial support level and, on the upside, the level of 8830 and 8890 are major roadblocks for the index.
 
The rupee opened at 67.06 per dollar.

 
The Asian markets are trading mixed on Monday. Japanese Nikkei 225 is trading lower by 27.32 points, Hang Seng is trading higher by 91.44 points, Shanghai Composite index is trading higher by 17.98 points and SGX Nifty is trading higher by 12.5 points.

 
The American stocks finished higher on Friday as the Dow Jones Industrial extended its streak of record closes to the seventh session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 4.28 points to finish at 20,624.05. The S&P 500 index edged up 3.94 points and the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 23.68 points.
 
FTSE 100 closed higher by 22.04 points, CAC 40 of France closed loser by 31.88 points and German DAX closed lower by 0.22 points.
