GlaxoSmithKline Pharma reports around six fold jump in Q1 net profit

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals has reported results for first quarter ended March 31, 2014 The company has posted a jump of around six fold in its net profit at Rs 96.54 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2014 as compared to Rs 16.90 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has decreased by 8.28% at Rs 654.73 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 713.84 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013. GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals is one oldest pharmaceutical company in India. Internationally it has created many brands such as Ribena, Horlicks, Lucozade, Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Panadol, Tums and Zovirax, among others. It employs 5,000 people and has turnover of more than $1 billion in India.
